As a student amongst the Sociology department, I am devoted and inspired to seek my potential greatness in the sport of Volleyball.  As a member of the UCLA Men's Volleyball team, my days consist of difficult work and dedication to the sport, improving in any physical state I can. Being an athlete, failure comes often, serving as a way to improve.  Dwayne Johnson once spoke out, "As an athlete, you'd better laugh at yourself when you slip in the mud.

Being a part of athletics leaves my days very busy with much difficulty finding time for other activities, due to the physical and mental drainage of being an athlete.  When off the court, studying and keeping my loved ones close is important to me.  Earl Campell reminds me, along with the rest of the student-athlete community that we are both a student and an athlete, prioritizing not one but both, "I talk to student-athletes. I try to get them to remember that they're not just athletes, but student-athletes. You need to get an education, keep your hands clean and try to represent the university."

All these writers discuss the path in which they are seeking, along with the challenges and priorities along the way.  Finding a path is difficult at such a young age, yet we are all in the time in our life where are future is at risk and needs saving.  Finding a proper and path pertaining to an individual is what drives them to stay motivated and succeed.  Finding my journey with volleyball and a life beyond sports has been the most challenging to me, yet a challenge accepted and acknowledged. 
Thousands of paths exist, but determining which is right is key.

Week 6 Adam Parks     Biotechnology is a form of technology that has been enabled through the increase in technology and sciences. Biotechnology can be broad, from genetically modifying foods to kids to so much more. All of these examples lead to the idea of modernism in our current day in age and the progression of technology. All sorts of technology relates to the main idea of art, showing the beauty of the world and the progression our country has made.      Genetic modifications can be made as a form of improvement, fixing the flaws and making changes to better an outcome. Event 1: Botanical Gardens      Agriculture has been a large part of society for centuries, beginning first as a sign of wealth and land.  People who owned forms of agriculture illustrated wealth and dominance.  Agriculture has developed through time as a sources of food, production, and especially a form of art.  Plants and trees and rocks and all forms of nature have changed in to a form of art and the beauty of the world.  In the weeks 1 readings of C.P Snow, the idea of agriculture changing from wealth into more art based is discussed, additionally stating the multiple cultures within the simplicity of agriculture.       For the first of the events I attended, I went to the UCLA Botanical gardens.  A sense of the past came about when pondering in the gardens.  Seeing the elegance and beauty of the art of nature brought about where it all began.  It was once a part of the past culture as a form of wealth and...
